What Draws GIA?

They/them. Viet American artist based in Tucson, AZ.

I have a boring background in Physiology & Spanish from the University of Arizona, which somehow led me here, making everything from medical illustrations for scientific journals to volunteer fan art zines. I like to think the common thread is caring about what I'm making and who it's for.

I'm trilingual in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, which comes up more in my work than I’d expect. Beyond illustration, I edit and contribute to community zines, collaborate with local organizations, and occasionally end up on walls.

Outside of art and academia I'm probably at karaoke, trying a new restaurant, or trying to learn another language.

I’m always open to collaborators, weird projects, and people who inspire me.
